As the building formerly used by Frewsburg United Methodist Church stood empty, community youth began asking if they could put in a couple of games and make a place for youth to gather. It was response to these inquiries that prompted volunteers, with support of the community through donations and volunteerism, to establish The Relief Zone Community Youth Center (TRZ). Incorporated in 2006, TRZ meets genuine needs in this rural community by offering a variety of fun activities as well as motivational, character building, and culturally current speakers and music. Since opening the doors for Saturday evening activities in May, 2000, activities at TRZ have multiplied to the point that the doors are open throughout the week for many activities and programs. TRZ has expanded from just fun, to functional, offering tutoring and enrichment components, Summer Day Camp Program, Jumpstart Before school Program, After School Program, Half Dayz Program, No School Dayz Program, Snow Dayz Program, and REACH Young Adult Program. (Children’s programming follows the school districts calendar).

This means that not only does TRZ provide great activities, but every imaginable opportunity for investing in our children, youth and young adults through volunteerism. Whether you would like to be directly involved with children, youth, young adults or prefer to serve in support areas-there is a place at TRZ to serve.
